Types of Energy

There are lots of different kinds of energy. They may appear to have nothing in common but what they all have the ability to do is to MAKE THINGS HAPPEN. Energy is the ability to do work, to make things happen.

Sound Energy All waves carry energy. Another example is light.	Kinetic Energy The energy of a moving object. The faster and the heavier it is the more it has.	Thermal Energy Things which are hot have this	Electrical Energy Travelling through wires
Gravitational Potential Energy Things which are high up have this. The higher they are and the heavier the more they have.	Chemical Potential energy The energy stored in food and fuel for example.	Elastic Potential Energy The energy stored in a spring or anything which is stretched.	Nuclear Energy Uranium has this
