Population Size
Suggest reasons for the distribution of animals or plants in a particular habitat
A habitat is a natural environment where organisms live.

All the populations in a certain habitat is called a community.
The habitat and its community is called an ecosystem.

The different species within a community form a
food web. The population of each species depends on the resources available in the habitat which, for carnivores, means the population of the prey available. The population of all species will depend on what competition there is for resources. In a balanced ecosystem the populations will stay roughly the same over time. You will do a lot more work on food webs and populations in year 11. |
