2. A motorbike travels 10 km at a steady speed for 5 minutes. calculate its speed.


3. Below is a distance time graph for a journey. calculate the speed of the object in each of the 4 sections.


4. This shows how the speed of 2 cars changes when they accelerate from rest.

a) Which car has the biggest acceleration? How do you know?

b) Which will have covered the most distance after 6 seconds? How do you know this fro the graph?

c) Calculate the acceleration of car 1 during the first 6 seconds.

d) Calculate the acceleration of car 2 during the first 8 seconds.


5.  It is important that you understand the difference between mass and weight.

     a) What is mass measured in?                      b) What is weight measured in?

     c) A girl has a mass of 45 kg. What is her weight on Earth?                 d) Would her weight be the same on the Moon?  Why?


6. The diagram below shows the 4 forces acting on a speedboat travelling at a steady speed.
