Writing it up
Remember that your report should be between 1000 and 2000 words. This is only about half a dozen pages of A4. (Use font size 11) The trickiest thing will be to keep your report down to this size, i.e. to be concise and just include the most important and relevant information. The guidance states that you should spend about 5 hours in research and writing up your report. I think a few hours more would be needed to produce a quality report.
I suggest the following structure for your report
Title page
Introduction
A number of sections, e.g. based on different areas of Physics involved in the report
Analysis/ discussion / conclusions / summary
Sources sheet
| Dos Include several illustrations Include plenty of A level standard Physics Include at least one table you produced yourself, e.g. advantages and disadvantages of different techniques. Check your spelling / grammar Get your teacher to have a look at it before the deadline to be handed in. They should give you a few tips on how to improve it.

Don'ts Do not cut and paste. Exam boards are scanning students' work and using clever software to look for blatant plagiarism. Don't get caught out. You may quote as long as you give credit. Do not include anything that you do not understand. You will look a fool when your teacher questions you. Don't leave it till a few days before the deadline to get this done. You will regret it. Don't just report on stuff you did in lessons (core physics). Go beyond this. Don't waffle |
