Before

Don’t ignore the advice on these pages. Read it carefully and follow it.

If you plan to use a video camera use your own (or borrow one) and look after it.

Plan your first few experiments before day one so that you get off to a flying start.

 

During

Share your ideas with other people, especially your teacher.

Don’t waste the time you have been allocated to get this task done. You should stop when you run out of time, not before.

Be polite to technicians. If you are they will bend over backwards to help you.

Keep a basic lab diary. This should say what you did on each particular day, a rough copy of your results and ideas for what you plan to do next.

Take a few photos of each set up. They will help to make your report interesting and attractive.

 

After

Get it all written up as soon as possible and ask your teacher to check it well before the final deadline. He or she should give you good advice as to how you can improve it. Do not leave it till the last minute.

Do not miss the final deadline unless you have good reason. If you think you may miss it talk to your teacher in advance and they may be sympathetic
