Year 13 dates for your diary, 2004-5.

 

The main dates for your diary in Year 13 Chemistry are for your Individual Investigation. These are absolute deadlines, please. Technicians need the following information to help them do their best for you.

Other dates are included below:

·        Mon.Jun.28th – Select a title and tell your teacher. Choose a title of interest. Don’t worry if it is not familiar at the moment. Speak to staff and they will elaborate and advise you.

·         Mon.July 5th – present an action plan to your teacher. Use the notes you now have from the study of rates of reaction to help you organise your thoughts on what you may attempt in the 3 weeks you have to complete the practical work. Write a list of aims, possible reactions to carry out, what you hope to find out and the scientific theory you will include. Everyone will have a 1 : 1  interview with their teacher to discuss plans with them.

·        Fri.­Jul.16th – A word processed plan to be given to your teacher, for consultation before you leave for the summer. This will help you to make adjustments, add detail and organise your thoughts during the Summer Holidays.

·        Summer holidays. This is an important time for you to make a plan that is complete enough to be able to start in the new term

·        Fri.Sept.3rd – VCI must be completed and checked.

·        Fri.Sept.3rd – plan to teacher for final check. Any final adjustments should be made now. After this time you will be too busy with other work to give this much more time.

·        Fri.Sept.24th – requisition list to technicians. This is a list of all solutions with specific concentrations and volumes, equipment and apparatus you will require.

·        Mon.Nov.1st - practical work begins. Arrangements will follow.

·        Fri.Nov.19th – practical work ends!!

·        Mon.Dec.13th – deadline for whole project to be handed in.
